7th Week Syndrome

Why hello... I was very happy to find a community for NEMC (and it's maintained by my good friend Boom Boom, and she never told me...) so I figured I'd say hello and all that jazz.

I am currently experiencing my first non-camp related 7th-week-syndrome. For those of you who are new, or who haven't stayed full, 7WS happens to those campers who have the good fortune to spend their entire summer at NEMC. The name, however, is misleading. 7th-week-syndrome can happen anywhere from the second week of camp to the last week of camp. It's called 7th-week-syndrome because that's the week during which the full campers start looking like convicts in an insane asylum. It's not that they hate camp at that point, it's just that they're going crazy from being steeped in the atmosphere of NEMC for so long.

My point here is that I am currently experiencing all the symptoms of the syndrome, but I'm not at camp. I am working at a theatre in cambridge, MA, and have been doing so for *gasp* seven weeks. Next week is my last, and I find this whole situation strangely similar to a summer at camp, without the warmth, the music, the friendship, and all the other amazing things that make NEMC my favorite place on earth.

Needless to say, I miss my friends from Bennington very much, and every day between now and monday the 21st will be as painful as the last few days of camp.

I would also like to say, to anyone who cares, that I will be doing my level best to visit this summer, as my family tends to gravitate towards Maine like small children towards mud. Hopefully I can pay a visit to Mr. McCarthy and maybe catch a concert. *sigh* Now I'm all nostalgic. Boo hoo.
Anyhoo, it's time to stop typing now.

I guess maybe I'll go watch "The Untouchables," a great flick, if you wanna relax (if you haven't seen it, you don't get how sarcastic that is).
Ta ta.
